Look at the website below and practise your counting in 2s 5s and 10s.
This will help you with your division this week.
Division using repeated subtraction (number line)
Yesterday, we looked at how to divide using arrays.
We took a number and split this into rows and then counted how many were in each row.
Each time we filled in the next part of the row we took this away from how many we started with.
Watch this video to help explain.

Now you have seen how we can use our subtraction to divide, have a go at the problems below.
Use this Success Criteria to help you:
e.g. 12 ÷ 4 =
Know how many you started with. (12)
Know how many you are dividing by. (4)
Subtract one group (4)
Know how many you have left (8)
Subtract another group (repeat until you get to zero)
How many groups did you take away?
Answer
15 ÷ 3 =
18 ÷ 2 =
8 ÷ 4 =
30 ÷ 6 =
45 ÷ 5 =
80 ÷ 10 =
Which method did you prefer?
Arrays or Subtracting?
