Phonics

Today we are going to practise writing each of our words in silly ways to help us with our spellings.

We used to do this in school. I have included an example to remind you of the different ways that we used to write our words.

Write each word in a different way.

Guided Reading

Pick out some of the words that either you found tricky this week, or the ones you matched the meanings to yesterday and write some sentences using these words.

Use the template below to help you, or use your own.

English

Today we are looking at recounts. We are reminding ourselves what a recount is and what language we would use to write one.

A recount tells us about something that has already happened.

Can you remember what the word 'chronological' means?

Watch the video to find out more.

Maths

Following on from yesterday's learning on position, today we are going to look at what happens when you rotate (turn) and object round.

We know that we can turn around but how would you describe your turn.

We will be using language such as:

  • clockwise
  • anti-clockwise
  • full turn
  • half turn
  • quarter turn
  • left
  • right

Watch the video to explain how we can describe our turns and then see if you can have a go at turning some shapes / objects by following the instructions given.
