Dear 5 Blue,

We are currently busy setting up school’s website to help you keep learning. There will be a forum (a place to talk) so that we can all have a discussion about our learning, just like in school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by using the form on the 5 Blue page.

I look forward to seeing all the exciting things you learn and do at home. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we all see each other back in class again.

Keep learning,

Mr Manion

Thursday 19th March

Dear 5 Green,

I am currently at home, self-isolating and am very sad that I cannot be with you right now. That decision was made to keep everybody safe, which is the most important thing right now.

Whilst I've been at home, I've been inspired by the stories of the adults around the world who are working so hard to keep us safe and healthy, many out of the goodness of their hearts. I have learned that not all heroes wear capes! It might seem like a worrying and confusing time but it is also a time to show the kind of humanity we have talked about in class. It is a time to be kinder, think more about others and look after one another. As we have discussed, luxury items right now are not the latest phone or designer clothes but things we take for granted any other day like soap, pasta and tissue. I was fortunate enough to receive two bottles of anti-bacterial soap and will be donating one bottle to charity. Try to do one kind act everyday whilst you are at home. I am going to try to do the same. I will keep you updated on my success.

Rest assured that we are working hard to keep learning going. There will be ways for us to communicate such as a forum, which I am very excited about. Knowing all of you as well as I do, I know that you will relish the opportunity to learn electronically as I have been blessed with a highly tech savvy class this year.

We will be posting activities and video tutorials every day that you are at home so it will be a lot like school. You have your learning packs, which are good learning resources and will keep your minds active!

I hope that we will see each other in the not too distant future. Virtual elbow bumps to you all, for now.

I will end with the same words I end our school day with usually, be safe, be sensible.
