Complete the BBC Bitesize lesson on pronouns.

Read the following text about crocodiles and think about how it could be improved. You might want to discuss this with a grown up.

Crocodiles make much better parents than many other reptiles. A female Nile crocodile lays up to 75 eggs, the crocodile buries them under than sand in the riverbank. The crocodile guards them for about 3 months until they hatch, and then carries them gently in her big mouth down to the water. The crocodile goes on protecting them from predators (animals that would want to eat them) for another few weeks, before leaving them to fight their own battles.

Now rewrite the text using pronouns instead of the noun crocodile. Write the text in neat cursive handwriting.

Challenge: Explain why it is important to use pronouns.
